vestry on monday evening the annual vestry meeting of st georges church was held in the basement the rector after the signing of the declaration the meeting was declared open the apostles creed was recited and the opening prayers offered the chairman asked miss yvonne adams to act as vestry clerk in the absence through illness of mr wal lace thompson after brief remarks by the chair man giving his statistics for the year including the naming of those who had passed to their rest since last vestry meeting during which recital the vestry stood the report of the churchwardens was presented by wheel of car a heart attack while he was driving to an emergency call caused the death on sunday of dr w edgar robert- 61 ore of milton s most promln- hl5 car went out or control on main st struck a parked car owned- by dr g d denton and careened across the street to smash into h cavells garage the impact broke the garage windows and demolished the door dr robertson is a first cousin of dr d e made of this when definite arrangements are made three day celebration is under consideration for around the early part of august commencing on sat urday before civic holiday it is rather early to predict just what the program will be but it is suggested a major band tatoo sports memorial service garden party and other fea ture be undertaken a strong committee has been formed and it i wi be an district fairs j a carroll ontario director of fairs told peel counly agricultural society on saturday last at their annual meeting held in brampton it does seem unfortunate at so many fairs when hope to close the session before the arrival of their majesties on may 15th it promises to be an active liv ely session with an election hover ing somewhere on the outskirts of the session members when they rise to speak will be addressing their consti tuents as well as the speaker of the house as the time is drawing nigh when the tenure of their seat in the house will depend on the goodwill of
