j5ooo0 0o0 was stopped soon after the depression set in in one of the most exciting and breath taking hockey games ever to be staged in the local arena bolton ojha intermediates emerged victors over their equally as good opponents last night by a 4 3 score whlle ifr is nmriftpri that the georgetown team carried at least seventyfive percent of the play din ing the game penalties again proved costly as three of the visitors goals came whiel they were shorthanded it is also conceded that the bolton toronto combines play what is con sidered in most cases class a inter mediate hockey but it takes no less than the hometown georgetown boys to extend them to the limit to win their games and it is still our opinion that georgetown can not go on applying such pressure on this bolton outfit withoutvat least taking one fall out of them this season this game was again under the direction of honey kuntz of kitchen er and he made a fine job of referee ing a game such as was staged last night could not be played fairly un der a referee of a lesser calibre from a goal getting standpoint harls on the bolton left wing was the most effective and starry palyer on the ice he scored all of that teams goals and there were no softies ken richardson did a splendid chore for georgetown and no doubt should be rated well up with the tsars of the game his clever suckhandllng was a treat for the fans and baffling for his opponents george riddall at cen tre ice was also very effective in the first two periods and the georgetown ufie game defense played their best game of the year both goalies had some hard shots to stop and some clever work in the net was turned in by both al cott and hall while the game was very fast some rough tactics managed lo creep in and bolton made nine trips to the penalty box to georgetown s seven ihe bolton defense played a very strenuous game and as a result did not get any more penalties ulan they rlghuy deserved in the lntlal period both teams made three trips to the penalty box and this carried play mort or itss from one end of the ice to the ou er at pending on which team was short i an ded wlui hall for georgetown doing his time in tin cooler harris gave bo ton the edge when he skat ed from his blue line to the goai mouth to score the period endea w u url palrs in the penalty dox and the score 1 0 lor ijollon in the sandwich reel georgetow and this spelled doom to georgetown s chances of retrieving the lost goals although bolton played a man short three- times during the balance of the period the game ended bolton 4 georgetown 3 it was to be under protest evident ly was not from the fans point of view it was a very peculiar hockey game last fri day when georgetown met brampton at the arena here in brampton s home game georgetown was suppos ed to be playing the game under protest owing to the long brothers on the brampton team not being able to produce certificates at the same time georgetown had more than the legal number of players dressed in while we learn this was done for a purpose from the fans standpoint it still will remain a pe culiar situation however no protest seems to have been entered by either am this is the second tune within one week that georgetown has handed the lowly brampton tans a severe trounch ing and by exactly the same score 9 to 4 a5 in the previous game georgetown looked much the better team they skated faster back checked consistently and did not tire as easily as their opponents the game left no doubt as to which was the better team georg town again took the hard wa of winning the game that of coming rrom behind a 2 0 score in ihe first period the brampton team counted two goals while georgetown could not find the net mcmurchy scored the first goal on a nice solo effort with k long nights hockey setto with bolton must have sent george town coach scarface spats mo- qlmus home talking to himself as we learn on good authority he had to set up the coffee in more than one instance this man who halls from victoria harbor who spends his summer travelling some one of the seven seas and his winter rounding out a pack of puckchasers must have railed to read the rule book to bis care this winter as repeated trips to the pcnatly box for holding hooking and bodychecking -at- centre loe did not seem to go over with referee kuntz the sooner he insists that the boys stay on the ice and play hockey for the full sixty minutes the sooner he can hope to put bolton where he almost had them and get back the coffee which he no doubt wnt nave to do without all week which if you know spats will be pennance for his laxity in this re gard however this column is not out to decry the georgetown team for defeat in such a hectic struggle as ensued here last night but to ask why should a town like bolton be allowed to import toronto mercantile players to the extent of almost the entire team and then enter into an oha group of intermediate b hoc key it is time that the oha put an end to this racket and give each district to understand they must play home and district players it is no credit to bolton to win games in this manner but it is a credit to then- opponents when they can extend them to the limit how can bolton citizens support such a team when one half of the populace do not know from night to night who plays where on the team georgetown tried their hand at that importing game one sea and it proved a dirty mess to handle but we can now boast a team of all home brews and we know the boys are out there giving their best win sole or draw brampton play in bolton come coach mcglnnls is giving the boys some stiff workouts and he says he has now a complete team of out standing players in order that no juvenile hockey players should be out of hockey for this season a town juvenile league nil be formed at once to give every boy a chance to play hockey the number of teams in the group will depend on the number of boys want ing to play a meeting for this pur
