the georgetown herald wednesday evening january 29th 1941 inspector skuce satisfied with pub ic school inspection you announckb 18 a letter recently received by uie georgetown public school board may interest our readers here it is milton january 22nd 1941 p harrison esq bectreas public school board georgetown ontario dear mr harrison during the first week of january completed my winter inspection and through you beg to report to th board of the georgetown softool ab the outset i should like to make known to the board the very real pleasure which i always experience when i visit this school the build ing is neat clean and well lighted asm and persistent effort mr wrig- gleswoith offers cautious direction and encourages pupil application koch makes a definite contribution and there is no weak link in the chain one cannot look wth entire favour on a system which requires one or more of the classroom teachers to handle the music throughout the school this places a rattier heavy additional tax on the energies ol 6hat teacher at the same tune one must agree that the pupils sing nicely and jiat the work of ue classrooms is not suffering for their interest and good work in nuslc both miss prank and miss harrison are to be commended within the last year or two a great many schools have begun instruction one is assured of a fclndly reception n home c onom and manual trahv from teachers and pupils alike there is evidence of every cooperation be tween the various members of the staff and with the principal a nice work ingspirit exists m the classrooms pupils are interested and are being inspired to put forth their best ef forts n their school work and in their conduct all those concerned with tn school are co be congratulated on this very desirable condition one can not help feeling that the encourage ment and excellent support which th jtafl receives from the board contri butes in large measure to the succcs- of this school the fact that all mem bers of the staff have been willing to serve in the one place for so long ls on the one hand a tribute to the fair treatment received and on the other hand the retention of these people has jed to the establishment of a high standard of efficiency in the school the fact that all members of staff have been employed for some years also makes it unnecessary to re port individually at length on each- which w teacher the work being done wilh beginners by miss hume ranks among ttie very b found in any school mlss xandsay supplements this with a good training in grade 2 miss scott ery quiet kindly and effective tn her class room miss harrison has a bright personality which encourages pupil application these four teachers lav ing may we hope that a similar pro- ramme wfl be begun in georgetown in the near rutur since its jntro- ductiori into the milton public school m has provn a source of much satis faction and interest both to teacher ind pup since my last inspection of your rhonl it noted that a very efficient irhtinn sstem has been installed for this action the board deserves much credit in conclusion i should like to express iy desre lo co operate with the board in nn of their endeavours yi nrs a camera problem the other nighl she had been tryii8 to take some snap shots of the pup a livery littte rascal and he wonldn t stay put in fact the warmth from the photo lamps made him even mora bklttlfib than usual and by the time she wan ready to shoot he wrb usually out of slkht all right i told her we 11 fix him well use a flash bulb and get him down on fllm before he even knows it bo we arranged things and id about three minutes she had just the picture she wanted maybe yonre taken flash shots maybe not if not winter good time to ret acquainted with thla type of tfctnretaltlng and youll find it mighty useful for most indoor snols i use the retro lax flood bulbs but for some shots flash is much better its simple to use too even if you dont have a flash synchro blsnr just put your camera on a tripod or table edge and set the hotter for time insert the flash bulb hi s bouse kuop fitted with the itgtlw f inflnfttor yon usb bulb and close the bhutter that b all and you haye your picture moreover you can use any film you prefer the quick flash la bright enough for box camera oxpoburew with daytime film when tho bulb is seven feet from the subject and if you use high speed film the bulb can be seventeen feet back with a flash synchronizer flash bulbb are even more useful you can even use them in the daytime to brighten up the nearby details id a shady scene and you don t have to put the camera on a tripod you can hold it tn your hand and take snapshot exposures some of the most attractive daytime shots you see in the magazines are madn with the aid of synch ronleed flash and its a real help i didnt have a synchronizer for a long time because they used to be highpriced but i bought one last year as soon as the inexpeo sire models began to come out now ann wants one too she knows a good camera accessory when she sees one and maybe theres a good hint for your own camera kit t jnd to rnusi tntion v fif dn th ing worth m 1 sl i 00 he pins of i prim l1mehouse
