continued on page 4 its easter time the saddest season of the year is easter tune some ways to me it eer projects my thinking back back to the scenes of calvary the mists of many vanished years have failed to hide golgothas brow and we are saddened as we gaze through ages long upon it now the cruel cross looms into sight though densest darkness drapes the sky and we behold the sinless man who yields himself thereon to die who brought him to a death like this weslntien whomhe came to safe and from our neverdying souls all stains of sin to fully lave we see hi mother near his side supported by one faithful friend we see the rabble bow in scorn while mockingly the knee they bend we note the brow once crowned with thorns for which a diadem was meet we see his spearthrust riven side we see his nallplerced hands and feet bre yet from his five bleeding wounds the sinless man for sinners dies tu finished are the words we hear as from the cross aloud he cries he had no tomb in which to rest till one in kindness joseph gave and in the cold embrace of death he sleeps within this borrowed grave but be could not be held by death nor be defeated by his foes as dwwned the day on sunday mom
