delegates from all parts of ontario in attendance several branches of the independent order or odd fellows will hold their annual sessions in toronto during the week commencing june 16th the grand jjodge of ontario and the patriarchs militant department will meet in che king edward hotel and the rebekah assembly of ontario will meet in the prince george hotel to review the progress made during the past year and to plan for the fu ture and elect now officers a rebekah memorial service re ception and dance exemplification of degrees and a series or lunoneons will precede the business sessions on wednesday evening there will be a banquet and dance for all delegates and their friends thursday evening they will be entertained at tbe tarn 08hauter oolf and country club agteoourt the ioojp was district in voicing re gret at their departure mr davidson came here after serv ing in the western mission field he is a graduate of knox college to ronto where he was awarded a scho larship for post graduate work lead ing to the degree of mjv he is a native of ihe seaforth district mrs davidson comes from saska- toon saskatchewan and has her at cm from the toronto conservatory or music both were active members of the cedar crest oolf club and mrs davidson served as president of the wjms in the church with their dnudren walter and donna marie they leave for a wider field of endeavour in smith helen scott of eden mills with whom he was united in marriage september 28 1940 and one brother ronald at home as a boy jim as mechanically in clined and was engaged in that line of work as a man being employed for the past two years as mill wright and maintenance man at the hamil ton potteries ltd belonging to a musical family jim was a member of the umehouse or chestra for several years during which ttanfe he made many friends in other communities although ill for several weeks jims death came as a shock to bis many friends the short service at the home of his fatherinlaw mr cam eron scott of eden mills on may 23rd was followed by a public service con ducted by rev a h wilson in the eden mills presbyterian church where he was married less than a year ago in terment was in the adjoining ceme tery six of his close friends acted as pallbearers messrs denis hill jack sharp fred brooks harry smethurst earl scott and roy mc- keown the largely attended funeral was attended by many friends from eden mills and umehouse districts i el low workmen from hamilton potteries limited and others from a distance including miss nellie davles colonel and mrs mason of toronto mes srs redshaw and harold svmons ot hamilton and mr joseph mcoowan of barrie the many floral tributes were very beautiful hower bearers messrs harold sy- mons roy wilcox doug redshaw george emslie of hamilton leslie and ross swackhamer of churchill albert brooks of acton among those from a distance who attended the funeral were friends from the eden mills and umehouse communities and col and mrs d h mason toronto mr and mrs john scott preston mr and mrs denis hill hamilton mr and mrs l scott malton messrs joseph mocowan and harry smethurst barrie mr and mrs roy mckeown freeman miss olive- marshall toronto mr and mrs oock- bum morriston mr and mrs harold swackhamer hamilton mr h red shaw and mr harold symons hamil ton two of his foremen at ttie plant and other the girls lookout club met at the home of shirley wright op saturday last when plans were discussed for a sale and tea the end of june rev d d davidson conducted communion services at the presbyter- ian ghuroh on sunday also preaching his farewell sermon prior to leaving for smiths falls this week where he has been called to a now charge at a joint meeting of the elders and managers of the presbyterian qhurcb last neek
