terra cotta djo and v f o clubs met at the home of mr and mrs campbell sinclair for their april meeting the 1st company of georgetown girl guides met wednesday evening for their first meeting since easter holidays with just a fair attendance the troop was called to order by patrol leader doris armstrong and after roll call captain lambert spoke to the girls on the matter of absenteeism- the majority of the guides have a good attendance record but with the idays lengthening and warm spring nights coming many girls find it hard to attend guides it is to be hoped these few win come regularly to the meetings from now on and give the rest of the troop a chance to finish their second class work girl guides trying for second class badees are now hard at work on na ture study they must know bv slight and be able- to give a detailed des cription of twelve birds and for the next meeting each patrol is to have a fair knowledge of two birds the girls are finding this an easy task as there are several good bird books to which they can refer in our public library church parade was very appropria tely held on sunday as it was st georges day and st oeorge is the patron saint of our church there was a very good turn out for church parade and the guides looked quite trim in their uniforms large funeral fob j c young the funeral of the late james christopher young took place on
