at stewarttown july 1st 1887 a splendid committee was appointed in the month of may of 1887 to cele brate the 50th year of the reign or queen victoria june 21 was the day selected and charlie murrays bush was the place appointed quite close to ste warttown station for the great day a large platform was built in the bush to accommodate 100 couples for the dance for the afternoon and evening the opening ceremonies were called for 1030 in the morning and at that time an estimated crowd of 1000 people had arrived in wagons buggies and on foot and col murray opened the program and called on col
