ss dward lane go died on saturday night july 1st a few hours after a wagon load of hay passed over his body the unfortunate accident occur red on his farm 2 miles south of den huron about 3 pm mr lane was driving a tractor draw- i lng a wagon behind which was a hay i loader the joad waa about completed and the field was hilly mr lanes two sons were on the wagon building the load they were going down a steep in cline and about half way down mr lane attempted to turn the tractor to follow the windrow of raked hay when the tractor was turned at right angles with the loaded wagon the pressure against the tractor caused it toupset mr lsee was thrown clear of the ma chine which rolled over two or three times the wagon passed over his body before he had a chance to mil out of the way it all happened so quickly the two sons hadnt realised anything happened they found their father under the wagon between the front and back wheels medical aid was summoned from colhngwood also an ambulance which conveyed the injured man to the and m hospital at first it was not re- alised he was fatally hurt but about 8 pm he passed away mr lane was born in muhnur in 1886 and moved to kottawasaga ix
