georgetown venerable w g o thompson con ducted the service for a former faith ful st george s church parishioner relatives and friends gathered in brlces anglican church friday morning september 22nd to pay final tribute to dr a e ranney mom who passed away at 8 josephs gen eral hospital in north bay a short time after midnight on wednesday members of the immediate family many friends north bay council and members of the north bay medical association thronged to the church at 10 30 oclock friday morning to at tend the funeral services a solemn silence prevailed over the gathering as rev s v hatt paid verbal tribute to the long years of faithful service performed by dr ranney during his 19 years as medi cal officer of health north bay has lost a faithful servant in the death of dr ranney rev hatt said his dealh is a loss to his fami- 1 to the church and to the medical association his personality will go on living among those who know him his hopes and ambitions for north bay will be realized his memory will ever be vivid in our minds mr hatt said pall bearers for the funeral were dr j r hall dr s w bromley seth bush b g gosse harry rey nolds and robert mckee honorary pallbearers were doctors g w smith d a campbell k y sin clair it l crowe e j brennan and i joyal outoftown relatives who attended the funeral services were mrs ar thur ranney jr of niagara falls ont mrs harry ernst buffalo n y capt malcolm rannej halifax dr ranney s eldest son arthur ran ney was confined to hospital in nia gara falls and was unable to make the trip to north bay medical officer or health for the city of north bay for 19 years ana one of this community s mpst respected pioneer residents or ranney died on wednesday morning following a lin gering illness brought on by a heart ailment about eight weeks ago hi was 68 ears of age born at george town county of halton he was the son of the late mr and mrs malcolm ranney he was educated at public schools at georgetown and is a gradu ate of trinity university and trinity medical college in 1901 dr ranney took charge of i the muskoka general hospital where ht remained for one jear he marri ed the former ethel calvert of to ronto in
