halton ob- jective increased by 9100000 georgetown district bt 16ww a meeting was held in the munici pal building last thursday night when plans were made and commit tee chairmen appointed for the forth coming 7th victory loan drive l e fleck joint chairman with w f bradley for the last loan acted as chairman for the evening and thos eason jr acted aa secretary mr bicfcell halton county organi ser spoke briefly about the splendid showing made by halton county in all previous loans he pointed out that with the exception of one loan and not counting the city of toronto the amount of money subscribed in halton was the highest per capita in the province in particular he stress ed the outstanding part georgetown had played and gave warm praise to last springs smoothfunctioning dis trict committee major mocleary an associate of mr bickells was also present ana showed slides giving the reasons for victory loans prepared by the coca cola company and narrated by na pier moore editor of macleans ma gazine these slides were particularly compelling and it is hoped that every citizen will have an opportunity of seeing them during the course of the next few weeks quotas increased with the total amount of he 7th victory loan increased by one hundred million dollars over the last loan each district is being asked to bear a portion of this increase this time halton county will be asked to raise their objective by aioo000 and s16000 of this will be the share of the geor getown district it was pointed out that since d day war expenses have exceeded the budget figures by four hundred mm inn dollars a stag gering amount but one which must be paid for victory committee chairmen chosen it was unanimously agreed that in view of the splendid results in the 6th victory loan that the organization be kept intact if possible for this cam paign l e fleck and w f brad ley will continue as joint chairmen with ralph boss honorary chairman e v maccormack will again rffu chairman of the canvass committee but due to pressure of business felt he would need some assistance so leroy dale has consented to act jointly with him as chairma of this important committee r b foulis veteran chairman of the group payroll committee will again act in this capacity mr foulis has been payroll chairman in every loan the resignation or walter car penter as publicity chairman was ac cepted with missing word was received last wednesday by his wife the former evelyn san derson that pte george k green sward was missing on september 28 pte greensward is the son of mr al bert greensward of brampton he has been serving in italy since no vember 1043 v according to letters received shortly before the cable came pte green sward had been in hospital suffering from an attack of malaria he was discharged from hospital and had been in action six days when he cjme missing george enlisted with the lome scots in 1942 he was trained guelph during which time he was transferred to the irish
