ftum the us end of fair man agement and their position uksn those of general managers of the larger shows and is thla not more or law to be expected 4ot the oeretary nan- dlea all oorreapondsdoe w a smith stone ltd the rok room georgetown arena friday dec 1st modern and old tyme al watsons orcflestra everybody welcome acfaniasion 50c too many fairs leave the success or failure of their show days to obanee by that i mean they sit baok and bope that exhibitors win patronize their abow ie they com it was a grand day if they fall to show up some other show whloh unfortunately was on the same day got the credit or blame for taking their exlbltor away perhaps there waa a reason management of a fall fair is like the management of any other bust- nees the gogetter is bound to win fail lair executives who cater to their exhibitors will not only build up a steady now of exhibits but win like wise build up their gate recelpta prize lists must be brought up-to- date new classes added and prixe- money steadily increased as a fair ad- erhibitors in the horse and cattle sections especially win not bring their stock out if they can only enter in one or two classes these must be adequate one of the big jobs in fair manage ment is for its secretary and directors to g out and sell their show in uuons etc advertise the fact ton wul find that you have more fair news than you realised coming back to the exhibitor angle get acquainted with your exhibitors nothing works better than a person al letter to attract exhibitors to your show during the past season i have written literally dozens of letters to possible exhibitors inviting them to georgetown falrthls personal to proved very effective and its fruits will an exhibitor likes to know that he la welcome and not merely there to help nil up the classes advertising is a big feature and one idea whloh might be adopted would be a sign at the highway ap proaches to your town advertising the fair the year round we have this under consideration m georgetown there is no reason as i see it why the small fair cannot build up a larger attendance give your customers plenty of attractions for what in terests one might not interest another get other organizations interested in your fair too and the citizens gener ally by asking them to help but fair management in the final analysis rests with a directorate which is ready to cooperate ready to go all out for the show with this spirit there is no saying just how far lair can go mr and mrs mttno war than oas- ed forward while mr a w benton read a short address on behalf of the neighbours and friends of the bride and groom messrs harding price and john newton then present ed them with two oocaslodal arm chairs all sang for they are jody good fellows mr mlno which i have the privlege to be se cretary has been advertised at every possible instance and what other lair could not do the aamet keep your fair before the pubuc during the 365 days of the year not just a week or two before show day if you have a meeting give an account of it to the local press if you have a social donate to war charities hold compe d- ance wednesday december 6th rose room
