grandson of mrs joseph bulls and attended ashgrove school and george- town high school at time of enllst- ment be was attending school in port vr he has been overseas since april of this year he is afternoon and got home to georgetown 11uidy originally r- to june 1m0 with the 48th highlanders sjbgt wamea rejoined the lome soota when the regiment went active tom has everything good to say about england and scotland as he puts it and says the british people treated the canadians royally a small arm instructor during moat of tali army career in england he was particularly fortunate in being located jb a town where be could keep up with fcu music and was a member of the aldersbot choral society and the vaanborough operatic society a had a featured part in a production of the desert song day leave at home and on a trip to the port hop and peterborough districts with hie family after which as a pacific vol unteer he reports to toronto pte laws speaks highly of the trip over and of the efficient arrangements made by the army to see that every thing on the homeward journey run smoothly and that no time is tost in speeding returning veterans to their homes he la also appreciative of the thoughtfulness of individuals and or ganizations in their parcels and let ters to him while he was overseas sgt trevor wukaaas overseas for four years sgt trevor williams was another district boy who made the trip home on the queen f mary and was reunited with his par ents mr and mrs j b wullams of the glen sgt wullams enlisted at london on jan 7th 1m1 and after training there and at debert nj3 went overseas the following july bom in wales he was able while in eng land to spend several leaves at his old home there oolng to prance with the first troops on d day sgt wonams was with the highland light infantry through tough fighting in belgium and took part in the schelde estuary am phibious ftnpalgn he was hospitali zed with shrapnel wounds for three months in england and then spent some time in a convalescent hospital he has enlisted for the pacific he has one brother pte jim williams overseas and another brother pilot officer harry wullams is with the roaf at oharlottetown pj3j other members of the hlj from here in cluded sgt wllttamr chum pte bob momenemy with whom he en listed pte ralph bludd and lieut bruce zimmerman who was killed in action last spring fred yeates died in 50th year his many friends were sorry to learn of the sudden death early tuesday morning in toronto oeneral hospital of fred yeates aged 47 years althougn mr yeates had been 111 since november death came suddenly as a result of a haemorrhage he had been in ouelph oeneral hospital for some time previous to being moved to toronto general hospital for speci al treatment the late mr yeates was the son of james yeates a native of georgetown who died in windsor in january and the late mrs yeate s he was bom in leigh lancashire england coming out to canada in 192 be and his wife the former euen setjdon have lived here ever since the late mr yeates was a charter member of georgetown post 120 can adian legion and a member of the imperial section of the legion he bad always been active in legion af fairs where his presence wtd be great ly missed mr yeates was a member of holy cross church he was employed with provincial paper ltd surviving him are his widow and one son james of the royal cana dian navy who will arrive home on j thursday he has one sister mrs brown windsor the funeral vice will be held in holy cross church prldey morning july 20th at 10 am dvr sheldon lswr
