wm f and mrs h bailey occupying the chairs the meeting opened in the usual manner after which the minutes of the prerloas meeting were read and adop ted and the correspondence dealt with the sum of 91040 was voted to the canadian institute for the blind and several ladles volunteered to help with the national clothing collection means of raising money were die- cussed and it was decided to hold contvenership of the pre sident mrs fred bralsby the legion wa held a chicken supper for some 35 men who had returned from over seas and a number of world war x soldiers who bad served m this war with the veterans guard all members of the legion or sons legion members who had been on the wjl parcel list while away from home also present as honoured guests were six mothers whose sons had paid the supreme sacrifice and one war widow in the persons of mrs jim blah mrs adam kay mis john oliver james murphy mrs james dickinson mrs w wyue and mrs j w he bin during the evening gold brooches were tober 2nd of robert emmett english a resident of glen williams for the past seven years with his wife he was wellknown as the proprietor of green gables summer hotel at wasaga beach bom in brockville sterdam overseas since june 1041 he was originally with the lome scots and was later transferred to the saskatoon light infantry he has served in sicily italy france bel- glum germany and holland at
