from the ontario department of health registering dis approval of wie scheme the purpose of this letter is to ema phaslze the fact tbatyour moh is not attempting to obstruct any war- tune housing project such a scheme appears to be an expedient for- which there is no alternative during the pre sent housing emergency the tmelfare of veterans and obhers during this cri sis is of paramount importance to all health authorities present crowded housing conditions are detrimental to physical and mental health however the building of houses in an area set aside to safeguard our water supply might constitute a situation dangerous to these householders as well as to the rest of the town the water supply has been unsatisfactory for many years and your board of health would be remiss in its duty if tbe possibility of 1 urtlier pollution were permitted may i ttiank you mr editor for your kindness in permitting me the use of this space in the herald yours very truly c v williams moh
