the near future a grave decoration day is to be held in town in the near future by branch 120 this will probably take the form parade to the cemetery placing of the flowers on the graves of our dead comrades and a service in mem ory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in world wars i and ix further details will be given at a later date in this column the executive and members of the local branch extend their congratula tions to two of georgetowns most dis tinguished soldiers fred harrison and tom dickenson at an investi ture held on friday may 24th they each received the military medal one of the nations highest awards for gal lantry in action it seemed quite fit- tag that the governorgeneral vis count alexander who commanded for ces in italy should have presented it to them as it was in italy both decor ations were so gallantly earned the citations telling of the actions resulting in these decorations appear elsewhere in this issue several of the ladles of the aux iliary who are also members of the st johns ambulance attended the motor cycle races on the 24th to take care of any casualties understand trade was fairly brisk too and that they made a fine job of patching up some of the riders unfortunate enough to have had rninrtf crashes last night tuesday the 28th several members of the auxiliary visited the neighbouring auxiliary in brampton good evenings entertainment was reported by all who attended number of the comrades have been ill lately and the sick convenor mrs tom grieve has had a busy time of it visiting the shutins with dgar- etess etc glad on mat 24th a quiet wedding took place at knox presbyterian manse on friday may 24th when doris agnes youngest daughter of mr and mrs joseph c switeer of norval became the bride of frederick john ted brown only son of mr and mrs frederick j brown of llmehouse rev c c coch rane performed the qeremony given in marriage by her father the bride was lovely in a streetlength dress of white crepe fashioned on princess lines with cap sleeves made of lace and white accessories her corsage was of american beauty roses bouvardia and fern their only atten dants were dr and mrs s magwood of georgetown mrs magwood gowned in streetlength dress of mauve end green printed silk jersey with white accessories her corsage was of pink roses luyofthevadeyand fern after the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the brides par ents the brides mother received the guests wearing black crepe with a yel low rose corsage mrs brown chose a suit of coral wool and a corsage of pink baby gladioli
