feature was the in vitation extended to members of the branch to attend the social held after tile presentation a good many of the comrades look advantage of the kind ffer and reported an excellent time a young lady from brampton mrs dobbs entertained with ballads in the lauder and oracle fields style she is a charming young scotch lassie who has just arrived from overseas to make her home in the neighbouring flower town with her husband formerly of the canadian army she is certainly a top notch entertainer and we trust that the branch may soon hear her in a repeat performance the auxiliary presented two of the overseas brides mrs bern tennant and mrs bob rayner with lovely pres ents and wished them all happiness in their new homes in town a presentation was also made to miss pearl webster who is to be mar ried shortly for her excellent work as zone repre sentative mrs thos grieve received a cup and saucer mrs giasafords orchestra supplied excellent music for the evening the auxtthtfy are to be highly com mended on the fine job they have been doing in greeting the returned lads to date a large number have tenjmdt tory handsome presenta tion and ve understand that there are still more such nights to be held- we hear rumours of the imperials holding their annual picnic in the ear ly part ol august although a meeting was held some time ago regarding this it was not too largely attended but tentative arrangements were made more of this later the alterations to tfee legion rooms mentioned in tins column some weeks ago have been progressing quite nicely especially in the enlarging and re vamping of the beverage room it has been extended to almost twice the original size and more changes are to bemade in the near future we think it quite timely to mention a few of the proposed changes a furnace room is y be installed and for this purpose a basement is to be added in part of the building a large auditorium is to be installed as well as a ladles room and a large lounge billiard tables two in number are to be the main fea ture of a modem recreation room these will be a decided addition and will fill a greatly needed gap in the re creational needs of the branch this is a very ambitious building program and it is only through the active co operation of every member that it can speedily take place we have a very capable building committee in charge of the project and on them rests the burden of responsibility for the project on wednesday evening last toe committee arranging a grave decora tion day fbr the branch held a meet ing the date decided on was sunday afternoon the 33rd of june arrange ments are now being completed and it is urged that every citizen should at tend to pay their respects to the com munities honoured dead in this con nection we ask that any citizen of georgetown or dtatrtot who has some one to be remembered in either war or who has since passed away to get in touch with a member of the legion or phone the legion rooms with the name for inclusion on our list in this connection executive and members wish it clearly understood that this is not a private remembrance and dec oration service but is being sponsored by the branch in honour of all of georgetowns servicemen who did not return or have since passed away the town council and the lome scots band are both expected to par ticipate and rumour has it that the weutknown leader of georgetowns bands of other years alt perrott will wield the baton on that day david bowman mm who made such a grand job of marshalling the zone- parade held here last may is to be marshal of he parade that popular member and vicepres ident of the branch russ firestlne visited this weekend with mr and mrs sam tennant john street russ informed us thaj he was
