place when the voters have an opportunity of njaking their nominations for next years municipal officials every year it has been oar custom totry in our editorial and riews columns to get more voters to attend this meeting and while we dont flatter ourselves that everyone reads the herald we are sure that a great many more people read it than turn up at the meeting perhaps the new ratepayers association will have more hick the greatest thing that could happen in town affairs would be for an overflow crowd at the meeting for the information of new voters who might not be familiar with procedure the meeting will be held in tht public library from 730 tojb30 nominations wul be received by the returning officer charles will- on nominees have until 9 oclock saturday evening to qualify as candidates and there is one reservation if a man is nominated for more than one office he must choose which office he wishes to contest before the close of nominations otherwise he will be considered for the first office for which he was nominated after nominations are closed a public meeting will be held at which it is customary for council members and mem bers of the various town boards to give reports of the years activities candidates for office have an oppor tunity to apeak as well as any ratepayer offices to be filled are as follows mayor reeve deputyreeve and six councillors two from each ward hydro commissioner from each ward six public school trustee two straws in the wind in this years nominations is particularly keen decausc of the possibility of an election for the i mayoralty in view of the resignation of mayor joseph gibbons among those mentioned who might be in terested in this office a interest in keen because are actingmayor jack arm strong
