ltd g wilkinson game wonder who jimmie and nick would root for in all seriousness tho now that the boys have broken their losing streak we predict a winning team on paper they appear to have one of the strongest batteries in the league and now with scotty sup plying a bit of coaching as well as pitching the odd game should go to town horseshoe pitching is still very much in the air we believe that the sports chairman has either been to or is going to an executive meeting shortly to sec about using the property behind the hall for a couple of pits still figure the boys are taking an awful chance with the traffic in and out of there however a horseshoe league should go over in a big way i sunday june 23th is decor ation day in town so lets sec all members turning out the service will be held in greenwood ceme tery the parade formfng at the monthly mcctfiiu he succeeds j l lambert who has friday june 23rd inheld the office for the past two the auditorium suppose tile couplej years of hundred members who havent been showing up at the meetings surprise the president and execu tive by being on hand they would appreciate it why a new public school is the ohlt answer to our present and future educational needs question answer why cant we make the present school do by adding 2 new class rooms it will cost about 50000 to do this and by the time the rooms are ready more space will be required theyll also cut down the play ground space which is inadequate now question answer question answer if 2 new classrooms arent enough town hall or public library cant we utilize space the the space isnt suitable it would cost georgetown taxpayers thous ands to make it so out of their own pockets the province wont help in such makeshift renovations what do you mean the province wont help the provincial department of education is wide awake4knows well need 1 4 classrooms for 495 pupils in 1 952 and 1 7 class- rooms for 576 pupils in 1954 our own survey showed that if we trifle withhalfmeasures the province may take away our school grant v v- which is cheaper doing half a job and paying for it all ourselves or building a proper modern new school large enough for today and the future also with the province providing 36 of the cost pins an allowance of 16 per pupil of average attendance norval loses opening game to brentford norval central peels lost a close game
