bailey dies at sons home margaret jane westacott baijey wife of the late william h bailey died suddenly on saturday may 5th at the home of her son calvin r r 2 georgetown she had been fcttfve and in good health to the moment of her death she was in her 82nd year she was bojn ill melanothon township near dundalk and lived at collingwood and craigleath be fore coming to hornby as a bride sixty two years ago two sons ser ved in the first world war and two grandsons in the second she was predeceased by her husband in 1921 her daughter emma in 1933 and by a grandson david michie in 1950 surviving believe hut this is what the fish had in its stomach 4 suck ers 6 long 1 chub 5 long and a sinner 4 so just take it from that what the brown trout will do to small speckled trout we have examined stomach contents of many big browns and have yet to find a speckled trout in one r if any one does please let us know the credit forks is as good a place as any to find the answer to this question floyd varey showed us a nice catch of browns recently one- was 3 lb 2 oz 20 long another was 2 lb 11 oz the other was 13 long a very nice catch and caught on spinning tackle and bait stv emmtnon is up to his old tricks again at least thats what we thought when he showed us a nice 4 lb 28 brown recently it was caught on a fly rod and a minnow chas hoare took a nice 17 rain bow from the pine river and sonne smaller ones frank tost has had good tuck on his spinning tackle recently one 17 brown and a nice speckled trout keith spence creeled a nice 3a lb brown i bud kentner hooked a 22 brown recently on spinning tackle ten year old ronnie mclean of norval is not only a wizard with a hockey stick but he is proving he is quite the angler as well two nice browns have been killed un der his split nam boo so far this season one was just under the 5 lb mark and the other was about 3 lb harry adams bob jepson and bob lockhurst caught a nice mess of speckled trout recently near 0s- pringe our luck so far this season has been a 22 rainbow a 22 brown and two 17 browns also some smaller rainbows and speckled trout these latter were caught in a trib utary of the pine river lures used were small williams wobblers cream buck tails and bait the pine river was quite high and murky agan this season stan lyon anil walter brand- ford brought home six nice lakers from lake simcoc recently they on store closing hours retiring president goodlet urged merchants to adopt 9 oclock saturday closing claim ing that ve little business was done after that time some favoured closing on- mondays and staying open the other six days of the week others considered a six or seven oclock closing saturday as an im provement the concensus of opin ion is that merchants will tend to follow industry with shorter hours if for no other reason than to keep adequate help final decision was to have each merchant in town answer a ques tionnaire before any definite action toward earlier closing hours is con
