screen of the roxy for three days next monday tuesday and wednesday legion notes last friday night saw a good attendance at the friday night social alex taylor and jimmie murphy were in charge of things and as usual made a good job of it the orchestra is orva sheas our genial caretaker jim blair has been laid up for a few days he has been working as usual around the branch but he certainly has had a rough siege of it how ever he seem to be much ucller now the three n ehnrgr of the buffalo trip bill honey will hil- lis and frank parmeter rejxui that everything is well in hand and that the trip promises to be the best yet and a good crowd is expected to go about 30 we believe the weekend trip is scheduled for the weekend of june 9th and the group will go by bus the writer hopes to have one of those going turn in an account of the nip for the column branch 120 have arranged a game with acton legion for the weekend after next and hope to see a good turnout of members on hand see scotty patterson or eric tomlinson for all the details the crib and euchre parties are still under way and the boys are doing a mighty fine job on promoting an extra recreational outlet for the branch a dart tournament has been mooted and we believe the boys are working out the details now possibly well have some news for you about it next week this week with the introduc tion of a monthly bulletin to the members of the branch one of the most progressive steps in the leg ion has been taken in our opinion h was unanimously decidedat- the- last meeting to start a policy of notifying all members of each meet ing parade etc and also to include a list of coming events etc it will be printed on card so that it will be able to be kept for monthly ref erence it is hoped particularly by the writer that this will boost atendance at moithly meetings as well as creating more interest gen erally in the branch the first issue naturally is always a little difficult to lay out and by no means will be a perfect example of what is in tended to develop so for any suggestions about it or criticisms contact the president wilf hillis or fred mccartney you can be assured that your ideas will get careful consideration we cant al ways promise to take your advice but we will sun be glad to have it personally we were very pleased to see the branch decide so whole heartedly on this suggestion of a bulletin it must jay off because almost per cent of other organi zations lodges service clubs etc send them out and furthermore it is our strong conviction that any and every member whether he is in regular attendance around the bianch or not is entitled to be not ified of whats going on down there you should received khe bulletin on the weekend or monday just in time to remind you about next thursdays meeting so lets see a good crowd 6n hand for the general meeting the last one only lasted 55 minutes from start to finish we covered a lot of business and had plenty of time for some chees and biscuits afterwards with whatever goes with it and still be home by nine thirty so how about it fellows i we had a suggestion put bo ua about listing the television programs for members convenience well comrades we certainly dont intend to clip out the programs and bans them up for you but we alin to halton county league intermediate baseball at home saturday may 19 3 pm clarkson
