plant will join her there in august mr and mrs john lee the former edith loree of norval and family will visit with mrs hunter for a month mr lee is from london on tario and graduated from the university of toronto this year they are en route to regina sask where he has a position as a hospi tal administrator on june 28th mr and mrs jim ruddell will leave for home after a months visit in england with her parents mr and mrs berry at shepherds bush in london jim does a great deal of travelling in his position with the research defence group he makes his headquarters at greenwood air field ns an engineering gradu ate of queens university jim met his wife while serving with the- rcaf in england the ruddells travelled by plane to england and will return to canada the same way it was sad news for jim who had been intending to have a reunion with a relative fltlicut gordon mcdonald to learn of his death in a plane crash last week a narrow escape which mr and mrs auburn wright and their two daughters will not easily forget occurred a week ago thursday morning at the cnr level crossing on no 7 highway east of norval mr wright was driving his truck loaded with four tons of butter when a car in front of him stopped suddenly when the wigwag started warning of the ap proach of a train mr wright ap plied the brakes but the heavy load carried the truck forward striking the back of the car sending it clear across the track and stopping the truck right on the railway track mr wright managed to shift the gears and move the truck just as the train thundered past in the meantime mrs wright and their two daughters climbed out of the truck and were terrorstricken lest the train should ram the truck the grim reaper was cheated by an uncomfortably narrovlr margin lady luck will be smll- 4ngongomeonei so when georgetown girls pipe band hold their lucky draw for a luxury cruise to bermuda and nas sau including a stopover in new york city the cruise will be for two people and is scheduled for sometime during the last two weeks in october and the first two in nov ember the winner will of course have the choice its exciting just to talk about it so lets get that much of a thrill out of it anyway before we know definitely were out of the running on a friday evening the win ners leave by tca from mai ton and arriving in new york city around 10 pm will stay over in the hotel taft where room and meals will be provided until the queen of ber muda sails around three in the afternoon of the next day monday morning the luxury liner will dock in hamilton bermuda where there is a stopover for the day with hotel room and meals provided monday night the boat leaves for the cruise id nassau where you dock wednesdamornlng the lucky ones will be able to stay all day in might be called a cloud phorically speaking during these tedious weeks she has had to wear a cast on her leg as a result of a car accident mrs peters is having the cast removed this week and with its removal will go a very or iginal source of revenue for the new pipe organ just installed in knox presbyterian church the cast is covered with autographs of friends and each one has paid for the privilege of having their name theron the money so donated mrs peters turned into a little fund lor the new church organ nice idea wasnt it the residents of main street north enjoyed a spe cial band concert all of their own on thursday evening when the popular brampton clown band ser enaded mrs e loud and mrs dor othy swan at their store oyer the white bridge the bandsmen made a special roundabout trip en route to fill an engagement at the fire mens jamboree at orangeville chil dren as well as adults were ihrif- led and amused at the comic cos tumes in which the complete brass band
