georgetown lurk lust wednesday evening the georgetown ioy hud that you first alphonite attitude und if in any play the flrtt player that touched the ball dldn i make an er ror the next player in line made good und sure lhat he would to to complete the circle it was the biggest nightmare suf fered by the local funs in u long long time if ever before who made the errors well that would be tell ing but we can tell you that about only 2 players used in the wholr game went error free over half of these errors were mode in throwing if they didnt overthrow they were ko weak the throw didnt come within yards of the intended target tiie local team used 3 pitchers namely douglas spike scott and art stamp but it wasnt the pitch ers fault they simply had no sup port the final score well oak ville had between 10 and 20 runs and the georgetown sluggers had a great big goose egg our boys can do better than that we hope so- come on you fellows shake the lead out of your pants und let us have the ball you ore capable of- the season is young yet so let us sec you redeem your self georgetown 7 waterdown 6 the crowd was nil und the game wus good that sums up the story in a nutshell it was very conspicuous the lack of support the team received from the local fans probably this was due to the poor showing put up by the team in the previous game johnny mowutt of acton who is well known for his pitching did the hurling for georgetown in a masterly manner he allowed 5 or 6 hits but struck out u it looked like he was fooling at times then he would tighten up and bingo another strike out the georgetown combines took the lead in the eorly innings ond held a 4 to 3 edge up to the 6th when waterdown took a 2 run lead making the score read waterdown 6 georgetown 4 this was the score until the last half of the oth when the local boys pulled this one out of the fire by scoring 3 runs and winning 7 to 6 it was a hair raising thriller and deserving of a big crowd with the players the combines have to pick from there is no doubt that from here on they will give a real account of themselves they ploy at oakville on wednesday night and on saturday of tjhii week will meet campbellville in acton park this should be a good game too as campbellville has a good team three of the remaining games in the schedule including saturdays will be played in acton as georgetowns home ground the purpose of this is to give the acton fans a chonoe to see some intermediate ball this year and to trynand get better fin ancial support for the team elmer in union presbyterian church on may 17th rev
