president of band r c adams former merchant dies after toronto operation warden of halton county for 1953 is reeve george leslie of esques ing township mr leslie is one of a large fam ily connection whose name has been prominent in the township since the first leslie emigrated from ire land in 1619 the youngest son of the late mr and mrs john l leslie he farms on the check line next to the family farm where he twos born and which is now owned by his brother desh he first entered municipal poll tics seven years ago when he was elected anleaquesing councillor and after two terms he served a three- year term as deputy reeve he is serving his second term as reeve of the township mr leslie was chairman of the important road committee of the county last year and during his term as a county council member he has been a member of almost every committee he is esquesings member of jhe grand river con servation authority and holfi i important post of zone 3 director of the ontario agncutural council this covers the counties of welling aon grey bruce dufferin sim coe peel and halton in the mid thirties he served a twoyear term as president of esquesing agricultural society he is married to the former agnes moore and they have three chil dren mrs russell thompson mrs ernie curry and edwin ted and two grandchildren blake leslie end mrs k c lindsay of town are the new warden s brother and resident of limehouse for 45 years until she moved to toronto in 1914 mrs james sharp 96 died in women s college hospital tor onto on january 17th mrs sharp the former margaret ross campbell was a daughter of duncan fraser campbell and cath rine ross mcintosh and was born in bentick township the family moved to limehouse when she was a girl and in 1876 she was married in acton to mr sharp rev d b cameron was the officiating min ister her husband died in 1985 a member of the presbyterian church she attended dornoch church as a young girl limehouse church during her residence in ibis district and st john s and grehview since moving to the city mrs sharp had been very act i v e until an operation five years ago letf her an invalid since that time she had hati to use a wheel chair surviving are four children mrs arthur ivens duncan c sharp miss colena sharp and william j sharp all of toronto a daughter mary eadie sharp died in 1943 there are three grandchildren mrs em est russell and thomas ivens of toronto and mrs j lowden wind sor and seven great grandchildren mrs sharp was- the eldest of a family of eleven surviving are two sisters and a brother mrs rob ert nickell si of rockwood mrs john pollock 86 of toronto and william campbell 82 duluth min nesota members of the family whopre- deceased her were john and dun can campbell cloquett minn peter campbell spokane washington james campbelf and mrs thomas jones idaho thomas campbell uoydminster sask and colina campbell rockwood dr kenneth glazier of gtenvlew church conducted the funeral ser vice at trulls chapel toronto and there was a service at the graver side in limehouse cemetery con ducted by rev alex calder pall bearers were ernest russell 9ha thomas ivens toronto william mcdowell harry brown and jack xawbon limehouse and jack mc gregor guelph christianou fund of brmwp i directors jack runham cer 1200 was contributed by members of norval and union pres byterian churches last year for the christian outreach both churches oversubscribing their allocation for this missionary branch of the church s activities annual statements were reviewed last week at annual meetings of the churches each of which took the fprm of a noon dinner with the meeting following in the afternoon rev g lockhart royal was chair man at both meetings the two churches shared the cost of a new furnace in the manse theje was last of a fa mily of nine children born to tho mas adams and susan crawford of brampton he started his business career as a bookkeeper and sales man in a large department store operated by his brother inlaw a d thompson in what is now the brill store later the business was operated as thomson and jdams and after mr thomsons deathmr adams continued it as adams and co for several years he was later a traveller for the canadian carpet company at the time of his retirement a few years ago he was bookkeeper at ken mc millan s implement agency a member of the presbyterian chu later of st johns uni-
