courier- joseph watson dies joseph watson 89 wellknown resident of town for thirty years died in hospital in hamilton on friday after a short illness mr watson was the son of john watson and ann henry and was born in reach township in ontario county he attended greenback school and farmed for many years near clifford before moving to georgetown he also lived for sev eral years in edmonton alta he was at one time a member of clif ford council for many years he was mail cour ier on the georgetown no 2 route a lover of horses and sports he was one of the most faithful follow ers of georgetowns hockey teams he belonged to the masonic lodge and was a member of the united church he is survived by one sister miss mary ellen watson of town rev john m smith officiated at the funeral service on monday at the mcciure funeral home pall bearers were william mcclements ron edwards jack cornish brn batkin fred armstrong harry devereaux and frank wilson in terment was kn clifford cemetery eolm also directed activities during a successful industrial week mr chapman as treasurer pres ented a report indicating a healthy financial picture he wa also chair man of the civic and recreation committee which enlisted the sup port of council municipal employ ees industries unions and busi nessmen in a program for improv ing the town park a good deal of interest has been shown in the project
