cemetery on friday after the funeral service at the mc- clure funeral home mrs farnell succumbed at peel memorial hospital wednesday mor ning to a severe stroke which she suffered the week before she was born at appelby a daugh ter of richard graham and annie alderson and was the former an nie warick graham the family later moved to a farm near norval and following her marriage to al bert e farnell in 1910 she lived at balllnafad mr farnell and his brotherinlaw w a gardiner pur chased a general store there from richard hewina and the- following year mr farnell became sole own er of the business in 1927 he sold out to jt kirk wood and purchased the present grocery store in george town frorn mrs a m grandy since mr farnelts death two years oko the business has been conducted by mrs farnell and their son graham mrs farnell was a faithful mem ber of st johns united church she leaves her son graham two grandchildren carroll and david a sister margaret mrs era thomp son of town and two brothers wil liam t of norval and christopher of burlington a brother john died in 1938 rev john m smith was assisted at the funeral service by rev r c todd of niagara falls a former min ister at thirty years and veteran of two wars jihn o whitney 56 died at his home on thursday after a short ill ness born in toronto mr whitney served overseas with the 58th bat talion in the first war after the war he worked in torontoaintil he came to georgetown in 1923 he was employed with the late clar ence buck at his store for fifteen years until he enlisted in the vet erans guard in 1939 and served in various parts of canada and the us until wars end he is survived by his wife vcrna rogers one daughter rhoda mrs don taylor and three sons albert john and bill also surviving are four sisters mrs o ml houston of georgetown miss bertha whitney norvat mrs george tracey sud bury and mrs ethel goodes niag ara falls he then worked with bradey bro thers at their butcher shop and for the past several
