halton were admitted to sanatoria five were from the town of burlington dud eight were tfrom the town of oakville also further donations were made on a per capita basis to resi dents of halton county stevens report at the meeting is as follows during the year 195253 the committee held six regular meet ings as a result of these organi zational meetings the following ac tivities were processed and exped ited a a highly successful county- wide cheat x ray survey was con ducted in conjunction with the on tario department of health the results of this very major effort may be tabled as follows x ray survey 1952 total number xrayed 1 7 549 no evidence of disease or abnorm ality 16 997 or 96 5 per cent pul monary tuberculosis 24 or 13 per cent pulmonary tuberculosis sus pects 5 or 03 per cent other dis ease and abnormalities 524 or 3 0 per cent these include evidence of prev ious pleurisy 76 abnormal heart shadows 65 tumors b active pulmonary tuberculosis 8 or 04 per cent fr rom oikville 1 expanded in the following fields 1 pre employment chest xrays for industry and business 2 coun ty wide educational program for tuberculosis prevention and control 3 an organized rehabilitation and
