bride jus the daughter of mrs john alexan der georgetown and the late mr alexander and the groom the son of mr and mrs john g mcclure of brampton the bride was given in marriage by her uncle mr a j craig kitchener and wore an ex clusive gown of misty nylon tulle over net and taffeta with fitted chantilly lace bodice lace peplum and a bouffant skirt falling into a slight train her fingertip veil was caught with a matching lace cap she carried a crescent bouquet of white roses gardenias and stephan otis attending the bride was her sis ter miss jessie alexander wearing sapphine blue tulle over taffeta with bouffant skirt having rows of self rucking the fitted bodice was ed ged with rows of rucking and plea ted nylon she wore matching head dress and mittens and carried a cas cade bouquet of yellow queen eliz abeth roses margaret mcclure brampton niece of the bride and janice mcclure brampton niece of the groom were flower girls gown ed alike in white nylon marquis ette over clear blue taffeta both carried cascade nosegays of yellow pinnochio roses and wore matching halos and wristlets the groom was attended by his brother jack mcclure and the ush ers were andrew mcclure cousin of the groom and dr douglas alexan der dundas brother of the bride mrs edgar gowland was organ ist and mrs harold mcclure of brampton sister of the bride sang o perfect love before the cere mony and because during the signing of the register at the reception in the church parlours the brides mother received wearing lady love purple ticotine with lace she wore white acces sories and a corsage of white carna- ations and stephanotis the grooms inotherworercebluelaeew7lh while accessories and a corsage of pink carnations and stephanotis for a honeymoon trip east the bride wore a pink nylon marquisette dress with matching hat white ac cessories and a corsage of garden ias they will reside on the grooms farm near brampton asngeove social and personal what council did bishop officates as new parish hall opens the rededicatlon of st stephens anglican church hornby and the opening of the new basement hall was held on the evening of july 1st when rt rev w e bagnall bish op of niagara officiated taking part in the service were two brothersinlaw of the rector rev j e maxwell rev charles burton chaplain to the bishop dio cese of western mew york and rev r w coupland homings mills archdeacon w g o thompson of georgetown rev canon p c jack son rural dean of halton rev wil liam mundy assistant priest at st judes oakville and mr maxwell who is rector of norval hornby and stewarttown the bishop dedicated several gifts from members of the congregation and friends of the parish these in cluded lighting fixtures given by marie lindsay and laura jamleson in memory of their parents mr and mrs- william lindsay chancel ren ovations by foster brain in mem ory of his sister emily jane brain churchyard fence and gates by john orr in memory of the orr family following the service in the church the choir clergy and con gregation walked in procession to the parish hall which was official ly opened by the bishop refresh ments were served by st stephens wa and guild- rev scott who has been a religious writer on the staffof the globe mall for 25 years her scripture reading was from john 13th chapter and she spoke on pathway to true great ness she said god wants us to garage operators association honoured a retiring member fred sinclair at a dinner and presentation recently in the mcgibbon house mr sinclair a garage operator here for 31 years has sold his white rose service station to fred mav- eal retiring from business because of ill health one of the towns old est businessmen in years of service he first had a garage on wesleyan street then moved to main street when the present building was con structed at the dinner presentation of a pen and pencil set was made by art scott on behalf of those present and regret was expressed at mr sin clairs
