decorated for christmas she also was in to see one of the branch comrades bui hadley who has been there for quite some time and once more fattier time is closing anotherlchapter in life with the approach bfj new year at this time it is the custom of this column to pause and glance in retrospect over the past year and to mention any highlights that were out of the ordinary in the past twelvemonths it is our honest and sincere belief that in the past few months there has been a greater spirit of harmony and good will among the members than it has been our pleasure to see in years this naturally has an exceuentaffect on the affairs of the branch because without a harmon ious feeling among the member- ship the discontent naturally be comes apparent to your elected of ficers and tends todisturb tfie bal ance of things and although the year did start out little stormy any differences existing ware amic ably settled in short order and the executive have had little disciplin ary action to take with their own members happily and that is as ftpsbould be the branch should be a place where comrades may ga ther to watch television play cards darts or billiards or just plain vis it with qui friends that is the predominant purpose of the legion a centfe for exservicemen not just a rather advantageous location to operate a beverage rootn and we could digress just for a moment to say that our branch of the leg- ion is conducted in an excellent manner and to the utmost satisfac tion of the ontario liguor con trol board during the past year the friday night rw4l i been continued
