of our newer citizens many of our new georgetowners come from cities and are used to city newapaper- ing where unlesa you are a lady eaton or an e p taylor something violent must hap pen before you and visitors birthday parties for the young members of tha family taxpaying is important we may grouse about them but like the weather we cant do anything about them taxes we mean i like any business a town must balance its budget and pay its bills and it is the coop eration of every taxpayer which uvoids bank overdrafts and interest payments which make next years taxes higher this is by way of reminder that the mid dle of this month the last payment of 1954 taxes come due and town clerk kelly is an xious to get all the money in on time recent ly council reviewed lists of arrears both prop- the social col umns filled with interesting news wont you make a special effort to keep us posted erty and water taxes and there has been a noticeable change from the days when geor getown boasted a year in which not one tax payer owed a cent not that there is cause for alarm but there are some who have needed a reminder and there are still some who have not produced the needed funds which the town must have to operate efficiently lets all make a special effort to keep councillors smiling and drop a cheque to the town clerk by the 15th deadline years perhaps some of the senior residents of town would be able to help out if anyone re members the family please get in touch with the editor and we can pass information along to mr declute there is sbmething new under the sun and its being
