and adopt rd and the minutes of the recent executive meet inks were reatl for the members in formation all the committees wrrc hraret from through their chairmen and they all gave satisfactory reports the bingo entertainment and sick reports were especially favourable ones during general business it was mov ed that the branch would sponsor the kid hockey again this winter and is the town has grown until it is eslima ted that there will be possibly four hundreds bos eligible this wintrr it seems to be quite a chore criticism was heard regarding improvements being made by the executive without bringing it up before a general meet ing however the president explain ed that they were authorized during the summer when the executive have full power to act on their own he ask ed for specific complaints hut there were none one of the comrades stat ted then that if it were a mistake to make the improvements that the ex ecutivc had made around the branch in the past few months then he hoped and felt that the vast majority of the members would agree with him that they should make a lot more mistakes because the new improvements were certainly wonderful question of the dues came up and it was unanimous ly decided that as of december 1055 dues would be increased to 5 00 per year to cover the extra coat of the legionnaire the official organ of the legion criticism was heard regard ing the way dominion command had forced this upon all branches how ever it was pointed out that nothing could bedone at present it is hoped thai ihe magazine however wiuhc greatly improved with the increased money from subscriptions it was also passed that from now on memorial services for our departed comrades will be held the evening bo- fore at the funeral home this in view of the much largor number who can be on hand in an evening and also to ahorten the graveside ceremony a request was made that the branch purchase copies of the dominion con atttution for each member this did not find favour with the floor and it was decided to get one copy of the same short reports were given by the president on the progress of the armi- atace ceremonies and the arm ut ice banquet he announced that jim yates would be selling tickets immediately following the meeting after the closing ceremonies re freshments were served by com alex taylor everything seems to be in order for the november lfth banquet and all the executive have bwn workjng hard on it it u hoped that thertwlu be a real turn out for this affair and tint the evening will be a grand one vtha evening u unique in the fact that lug made to the legion that evening by one of our blggfett supporters and we think that every member will be just as pleased with it as your exeeu live was when they saw the sketch of it to set this off a drape for the stage has been ordered and the wa in tneir tsual cooptrauve way have ordered drapes to atcb they are in gold and what with the new paint job will certainly add to the beauty of the place entertainment has been procured for the inner and once again we think that you will like it very much the ladies as always put up a real dinner and there 11 be dancing follow ing all for
