amount informing council a figure of 7 000 had been previously suggested reeve shannon explained it was the intention to put the expenditure in resurfacing the road but the depart ment requested a afternoon at 2 pm an lni illation will be held at 130 tor the benefit of any one wishing to be ini tiated and we urge every member to get out and vote for the candidates of their choice after all an election is one of the very few times that you can really assert yourselves so why not take advantage of it your past executive have worked conscientiously and hard all year and it is up to you to come out and vote to let them know whether you ap prove or disapprove of the way they have handled things too your com mittecs also fall in this category and should either be given your confid ence for another term or new ones appointed and we believe that it is up to every member not just a hand ful to decide this after all in a bus iness and an organization as large as the branch mistakes as to who is to cirry on can be disastrous so we hope every member will put a ring around the time and the dati and be on hand for the election at 2 p m this sunday and there is one little point we d like to clear up right now we have been writing a legion column for the herald for ten years now and might say we have thoroughly enjoyed it the boys who have occasionally taken a ribbing in the column usually tho roughly enjoy it in fact we have yet to find one who complained other than in jest we might say though occasslonally i e a couple of weeks ago we touch on something contro versial within the legion or the ac tions of certain parts of it when we do so it ts strictly as an individual and in no way reflects or tries to re flect the official branch attitude or policy we arc always ready for bits of news and all you have to do it ci ther phone them in to us or see us personally and if its printable we ii print it round the rooms si lang tells us that we ve hurt john walsh s nasty scare the other evening when his wife phoned to say there was a prowler around the back of the house the boys went up to have a look but alt they could find was tracks too bad they badn t caught
