reeve s bradley of port cre dit is the county s board member and councillor fred kline was reappoin ted by the brampton council as its member on the board for 1956 mrs j a henderson has been nam ed by board mem bers will take place at the annual mec ting in the public library hall at 8 p m on tuesday february 28th 316 mimtmrs enrolltd the public relations committee re ports that up to january 27 the num ber of persons enrolling as members in the hospital association for 1956 was 316 this while encouraging and gratifying to the committee is short of the objective for expansion year which was set at 500 last year the total number of members was 380 and with another month to go before the annual meeting tuesday febru ary 28th the committee is hopeful of adding enough additional members to at least surpass last years total and possibly reach a new mark well over 400 the fee is only 2 00 per person your enrolment is an indication of your interest in this local health in stitution if you are a resident in the area served by peel memorial and wish to give encouragement and sup port to those who give their services voluntarily in this worthy work and have not el joined the asso ation for 1956 you are urged to do so now by send in t in the memberships for your family or household of 2 each address your letter to peel memorial hospital public relations committee brampton philanthropy appreciated there was abundant evidence at the january meeting of the hospital board that philanthropy still plays a substantial part in the financing of such institutions three communi cations pertaining to recent bequests were read one from the roal tost company relating to the will of the latl j a hocking formerly of bramp ton who bequeathed a large share of his estate to the hospital a cheque for 7 000 was enclosed and it was also intimated that approximately 1200 more would be forthcoming when the estate is finally wound up the second communication was from a g davis q c administrator for the estate of the late mrs rosl jane fenwick his letter enclosed a cheque for 2000 being 40 per cent payment of mrs frenwick s bequest to the hospital the third letter was sent from the roai trust company relating to the will of the late mary jane walsh an other formtr resident who left s1000 to en low a room in memory of ed ward john walsh and mary o hara walsh equipment fund the innual christmas ippeal for the hospital s equipment fund has alrea dy netted over 1000 and donations large and small arc still coming in three of these were for 100 each there was a donation of 50 several of 25 a number of 10 and 5 and mmof100 and 2 00 all are gratefully acknowledged the money raised by moans of this goodwill christmas offering is used to make capital expenditures for needed equipment and thut keep operating expenses at the minimum further donations by organizations or indivi duals will be much appreciated now supervision miss minnie miller of wilhamsford ontario and a graduate of the owen sound general hospital assumed her new duties as supervisor of nurses at peel memorial in january she had served as member of the staff for six months before being promoted to the new position for which she is so well qualified taking special court mrs florence prlntz rn one of the nursery staff at peel memorial has been selected to take the special nursery course being conducted by the child welfare section of the on tarlo dcpt of health at the university of toronto during february by hiv ing one of its staff members take this course which is provided with out cost to the local hospital matcrn ity patients at peel memorial are as sured that their offspring will have the benefit of the most modem tech nlques in nursing care and be well cared for by qualified pcrsonus using the latest in equipment new records room with twenty- doctors now on the medical staff at peel memorial the mill records room on the main floor has become quite inadequate to pro vide
