infant had only known that it would wind up trying to read ghs theorems it would have screamed so loud that those pre sent would have frantically searched for the pin that must certainly have pierced its tender bottom since this destination was unknown to the little tyke it fell innocently into the trap and todaj in a somewhat more mat ure form sits at a desk with sherlock holmes magnifing glass and tries to find the triangle that should have been included in the theorem for this difficult job miss inman is however well trained she learn ed her theoiems at dunnville high sthool and was pronounced lit to en ter queen s university here she plunged more deeply into the myster ies of the theorems and in ad ilition she studied and majored in biology the latter proved valuable to her future inasmuch as she now has a firm knowledge of the weeds that ate gimwn in our tihh bums when she felt the cusp roll of her graduation certificate in her hand miss inman caught the first bus to toronto and ran all the way from the bus depot in toronto to the ontario college of education buildings miss inman began to study feverishly the wajs and means of deciphering elntk en tracks hotter known as tern age handwriting and when the art was accomplished she found her way to cayuga and began testing her ability from cayuga she journeyed to smith ville and from there to our own geoi getoun she found the theorems writ ten so badly in georgetown that here she felt her skdls were needed the most and has from that time devoted her das drilling hundreds of starry- eyed teenagers in the mental exer cises of mathematics her goal shall be reached only when she feels that she has succeeded in awakening our iltty minds many of the students know miss in man outside the school through her work with church vouth groups in this sphere little of the brilliant ma thematieian is seen but much of her kind motherly nature miss inman has seen canada from toast lo coast but still thtiosi s giur town as her plate to teach this ei ther indicates that we are nice to teach or that miss inman is a person who does not give up eisih in any case she has sem man of her stud ents graduate successfully thanks to her persistent drilling it is interesting to know what kind of students our teachers were when the were in our position miss in man must certainly have been a good student for she received the sehol irship which was iwuded it dunn nle high school uon hi i 411dm tion you will remc niher that the belter half of this cohort that is making a stud of our t jchers said in our last edition of indica ted notes or something to that ef fect therefore the teacher allowed the class to sit and learn their val ency tables i think it was very con siderate of mr baxter and gail where do you get all went would think graciously about anyone con ccrned with the program of the even ing many thanks go to frank oneill who as i understand saved a fellow students from an incident which could have resulted in a serious accident frank is supposed to have run some distance in order to reach a fainting student who was heading over the stair rail i guess all the running on the football field proved that this class is as dead as a spare on monday morning as far as gossip is concerned now if we could have a few fights between steady go ers or even a receiver of a few thou sand lines from the powers that be we might put some life into this es tablishment i know this must sound as if we are a group of finely educated angels but this is not so we do have the odd fight for interest and in some periods a few of the gentlemen could be forcibly detained for inciting to not the two phases of six hour hah itual boredom have just been touched upon to some people the above is just fiction but of course without some schooling few people can make a good living well feres hoping the gossip increases so this column can be continued by the regular contrib utor oh by the way good luck io b and s
