district secre tary for 13 years before there was a time limit for officers she recalled wi work during two world wars boxes packed for soldiers overseas jams made and fruit canned the efforts made to raise money for re lief in war torn countries mrs merry paid tribute to mrs g aitkens bronte who was instru mental in gelling music on the school curriculum first at bronte palermo and merlon schools and now all over ontario she also paid tribute to mrs laura rose steven at whose suggestion the w i emblem was de signed from a ring she was wearing it was also mrs stevens who sug rested the w 1 motto for home and country 1 aura rose was born in georgetown the youngest of a family of ten children of mr and mrs law rtnee rose her father was a miller mrs ouke mulder georgetown contributed piano
