at colhngwood recently the group of forty one members and friends visited smarts can neries of colhngwood where cher ries were being pitted by machin ery and weighed into twenty lb containers for cold storage at the georgian china co the ladies were particularly interested in the method with which the de sign was applied to the dishes af ter the gold design was applied the dishes were stacked on shelves on a slow moving track which took eight hours to move along through the firing kiln and out conked and ready for commercial use the kaufman furniture factory was next on the list and there the group saw the process of cab inet making from the rough lum bcr to the beautifully finished ar ticle the majority were amazed to discover how much machinery and the number of skilled workmen there arc involved in a single piece of furniture the blue mountain pottery was visited and proved so popular that many brought home piects as souv enirs of the trip after viewing many beautiful quilts and rugs
