high tales pubushed by students of oeoroetown hioh school vol 3 no 6 georgetown ontario wednesday december 12th 1956 feminiue fashions i am entering to this column a composition written by a young gentleman of grade 11a who in a moment of madness decided to crl ticize feminine clothing fashions in feminine cloth ing have always struck me as par ticularly absurd skirts arc made so long that they drag on the ground or they arc so short that the girls look all legs these skirts if long are so tight that the girls look as if they have to struggle to walk up and down stairs or can onlj wacldk when they want to run although to be truthful the do make the person wearing them look a bit shapely as is easily understood the feoj- ing expressed in this column is def initely not the feeling or views of the author of this column well now we can get back to the lighter and safer side of life all ink wells were confiscatid last week to prevent one of our fellow roommates from gittint his pad ded little paws caught again we still have unanswerable ques tions every week question why are we the hum bk pcopk of this school to bl pla gucd with exams the daj bifor wt start our holidajs answer if financnl difficulties should arise an out standing example of the jreit show of spirit and thoughtfullnes portraed b the senior girl hs expanding school brings improvements marilyn sourher chs is growing each year more and better facilities are needed and the crowded conditions now are aw full the old science laboratory on the top floor of the old building is again being used for a classroom and more seats have been crammed into it to accommodate a class relief is on the way however the new addition to the school has been started the teachers are not very appreciative of this beginning however because the noise and ac tivity right outside the windows seems to attract a great deal of the students attention what puz zles us though is why the building was not begun until the ground froze it does not seem sensible to wait until the ground freezes to bejin digging foundations howcv cr it is at last started and soon c we will have eight new rooms into which to expand borne day we may ten have the old school torn down md a complete new school whin it is time for the old castle to come down there will be plentj of willing volunteers to help with its destruction platter chatter sincere appreciation the students of ghs wish to ex pres their thanks to all those who helped to make their bazaar a sue cess special thanks to the fol lowing merchants and stores for their donations sighs the girls all dream of who appeared on tv the night before and above the noisy riot suddenly there comes a snore all eyes turn to look around and scenes from the night before appear pn the face of the sleeping boy leaning up against the store room door the teacher with a give up grin awakes him to his senses and then the last bell sounds aloud and needed lessons begin the hours slowly pass the teachers near are crazy the papery lying round the floor and on the boards daring pictures of daisy the home work is assigned the teacher s face shows peace as children fly through the door happy
