members to the parents and club leaders for their interest and sup port to the donors and others who contribute to the success of the wi program the high school auditorium at mitton on friday november 1st was packed for the occasion by the 4hrs their par ents and friends it ais an out standing- nights program wmiich was run off under the joint direc tion of x t woodley chairman of the haltons 4h club leaders council and associate ag rep j allen francis miss joan wriggles- i worth of hornby one of the four ontario junior farmer delegates to great britain in 1957 was the spe cial speaker miss wrigglesworth who was introduced b evelyn mc kay of georgetown presented a most interesting and informative illustrated address which enthral led her large audience john black of moffat in extending the apprec iation of the gathering referred to the fact that joan received her trip overseas as a result of her activity in 4h and junior farmer activit ies miss barbara cunningham of ashgrove another former 4hr and sli 1 active junior farmer officer as usual delighted her audience with her vocal selections as did nora beaty of ornagh with her in stmmentals it was as in former ear an j inspiring occasion to see and hear the oung people of halton plawng i their respective roles numbered among the seniors who spoke briefly were warden thomas mill ward of brortie and reeve john milne chairman of the halton count council committee on agri culture and reforestation guests from putside the count included ed wamner chairman of the agricultural committee of the kingsway kiwanis who annual donate a short courve scholarship i to one member of each 4 ii club their contributions this vcar total s150 and will be presented at a special luncheon at the old mill in toronto on december 16th where the club led by john w picket the halton 4h potato club and the acton 4h gram club were also successful in having loo per cent competitions another of the many features worthy of mention was the presentation by chairman add woodley of the farmers magazine troph to wm c robin son and lynnc coulter haltons champion beef team which won provincial honours at the provm cial interclub competitions held at guelphthe week previous members of georgetown wo mens institute wore costumes of pioneer days when they attended a meeting in knox presbyterian church hall on wednesday with historical reasearch as the theme mrs frank robinson and mrs walter t evans were conveners and mrs robinson introduced miss charlotte mcculiough as speaker who talked on the hfe and work of capt joseph brant mrs vcrral rawson wi pre sident chaired the meeting a letter was read acknowledg ing the park gates presented to the town by the institute and chamber of commerce and ex pressing the appreciation of town council for this handsome addition to town a letter of preciation and a donation was sent to the jband by the wl for their service in playing at the de dication ceremony mrs frank petch reported made
