auxiliary will present the first georgetown troop with a new un ion jack the john b parkin firm which was recently engaged to design a fourth public school for george town was again hired by the school board at their regular mon thly meeting wednesday night this time as the architects for the new 4 room wing to4se added to harrison public school in the delrex subdivision it was agreed by the board at an emergency meeting two weeks ago that the addition was the only solution to the attendance prob lem in that area a report to the board from harrison principal harold henry showed that the average increase set at 15 pupils per month according to a survey presented to the board at an ear lier meeting had taken a sharp climb and that double the set number had registered during the month jilnovember he said that the heavy influx of new pupils wasapparently continuing into december and to that date dec 4th had maintained the high average of one new pupil a day the board is hoping that the registrations will drop back to the 15 pupil level so that a decision between staggered classes and dropping kindergarten will not have to be made prior to march a suggestion by the harrison principal to the effect that each grade take a turn at being stag gered for a short period from the time it becomes necessary until june found favour with the board and will be considered as a possi ble solution this system used for a short time would probably eliminate any hammering affect of staggered classes on the pupils education the school board will soon be i moving into their new board principals office the drapes will be lined and of a pattern apart from that to be used in the class rooms throughout the new build ing experimental sun curtains are being hung in one classroom and if they pass the fade and sun glare test will be ordered for the other rooms mr henry notified the board of a new association formed last mon th by the principals and assistant principals of the three
