for margaret p0uce chief reeve assessor mr marshall had many duties dcaths georgetown lost one of ha most valued and respected cluiens william george marshall when he died at bis home 42 queen street on monday february 2nd in his seventy eighth year he was perhaps one of the towns best known people as he had served in almost every muni cipa capacity assessor constable tax collector dog catcher road superintendent truant officer in charge of water works through his many duties he came in con tact with everyone in town in one capacity or other helping with his labour and with sound advice and words of kindness he climaxed his quarter century as a civic employee with a three- year term as reeve of georgetown he was the son of the late ed ward and christina havens marsh all and was- born at limehouse the family jater moving while he was a young lad t the family homestead of his mother in erin township in 1904 he married the former bertha robinson her home on february 3rd they lived in hamilton for a time where he was employed at his trade of a blacksmith later moving to terra cotta where he operated his own business until 1920 when they seddon jameson wednesday february 4th 1959 at his home is academy rd james seddon in his 79th year beloved hus band of nellie tabernacle and rwr r ek- h ai came to georgetown and he wor dear father of frank and alice t fc n t mrs ray jtlacdonald cemetery georgetown kcd with john o neill for seven years in 1928 he became town onstable holding the position un til 1947 when the provincial police took over the policing of george town until his retirement in 1953 he worked in silvers dept store mr marshall was a hard and faithful worker in knox presby erian church where he served as treasurer for ten years and he was also a member of the board of ma nagcrs and of the kirk session he was a past president of the georgetown liberal association and a past noble grand of orion odd fellows lodge at the time of his death he was attendance of
