editor the herald georgetown onl dear sir in a recent issue of the george town herald appeared a news it em to the effect that a pledge of 25 000 has been made towards he proposed georgetown and dis trict memorial hospital by the georgetown lions club as president of the hospital as sociation may i extend to the li ons club my congratulations and gratitude for this very substantial pledge a sum of this sue means that each member of the club will be responsible for raising on the average about five hundred dol lars as his share of the pledge by the club to do this will require a good deal of work by the mem bers in the months to come and yet obviously a majority of the club members must have signified their approval of the project it is through pace setting gifts such as the lions club has pledged that a hospital will become a reah ty m this district a high standard has been set which can be used by other organizations and clubs as a guide for their efforts towards the hospital although the formal campaign has not been launched the hospital association welcomes contributions at any time such contnbutons will be placed in a trust fund until re quired for the construction of brown was m charge of ac election of officers for 1959- 1960 and after declaring all offi ccs vacant she expressed the thanks of the ladies to mrs coal ton for her wont as president for the past year
