legion pitnic a standout tiast sunday was the yearly pil grimage of branch 120 canadian legion to stanley park erin for their picnic with the terrific heat playing a big factor the crowd was extremely ly small for the group this year only being in the neighbourhood of four hundred a far cry from the peak year of almost 1000 however the smaller crowd cer tainly did not hamper the fun had by all and it was generally considered one of the best picnics ever held by the organization there were ponies and treats for the children as well as a pro gram of races for young and old gob collier was in charge of the races and much of the success of the day was due he and frank connely and their helpers with a big assist from marsh timbers who announced all events and kept a running commentary over the pa system to keep everything co ordinated the group sat down together for lunch at 5 pm the georgetown herald wednesday july 1st 1959 insfal businesswomen of ficers at meeting at terra cotta inn l
