rcg istered blind of 1ecl and halton counties the picnic was held on the spacious grounds at the rear n the locj home of mr and mrs grcnxillc davis on main street s in brampton the four persons in question were mrs ruth tinline miss muriel thompson and mr ro bert preecc all residents of the manor and mrs murray brtgdcn of hornby mrs bngden is mr mr precces daughter through the kindness of miss h tremajnc of milton the four guests were u ken to the picnic by automobile when alllhe guests who number ed well over one hundred had a sembled on the lawn official gree tings and a warm welcome were extended to all by several officer of the cnffi these include mr wesley stanley who is field sup ervisor of the cnib in peel and halton counties and by mr john p isard who is on the advisory board for halton county with the aid of a loud speaker a short program of contests was conduc ted prizes for the best balloons blown up were awarded to a lady a gentleman and all the children competing prizes were also aw arded for a lucky spot walk thcv oldest lady and the oldest gentle man on the grounds and pie lady and the gentleman having birth days nearest to june 17th also won prizes mrs ruth tinline of the manor group won the lady s prize for the nearest birthday her birth day being june 25th the prize for the above contests were presented bj mr k y dick of mtlton a very delicious and bountiful sup per was served to the guests who were seated jit long tables on the lawn during the supper hour the guests enjojed sweet band music supplied by the 34 piece band of the originals club of toronto lt j d wilson conducting when leaung for home each blind guest was presented with a carton of groceries a box of chocolates and a rosebud the happy faces of the blind and their escorts proved how heartily this annual picnic conducted in such a generous fash ion and in such beautiful surroun dings had been enjoyed by all pre sent on saturday afternoon june 20 i nvesto rs jvhno millwork twenty five residents of the manor had the unique experience of be ing spectators at the track and field meet held at the oakville high school for ten public schools the oakville trafalgar area their presence at the meet has been made possible by the kiwa nis club of oakville and in par ticular by mr kcilh warren the chairman of the senior citizens committee of the club who acttd as convener the residents wlrc transported to the grounds of the oakville high school by bus and upon arrival there were seated in a suitable spot from which watch the races and other events of the meet later in the after noon the residents travelled by bus again to victoria hall where a delicious lunch was served in very attractive fashion the gracious ladies who served the lunch were mrs warren mrs stoddard mrs johnson and mrs sinclair earl in the evening the bus brought the very happy group of residents back to the manor after a wonderful afternoon during the afternoon it was a pleasure for the residents to meet and chat with mr lister who is the vice president of the oakville senior citizens club of oakville altogether it was a very enjoyable and unique exper lence and tihepart played in it by the
