sask i r airt mrs hay t all plans for a sixth public school have been abandoned for the time being at a meeting of the george town public school board last wednesday night trustees threw out the idea of constructing a sixth school between harrison and george kennedy schools in favour of a single portable class room to handle the pro jected increase in registration at harrison when the new room is pur chased it wui be the second such addition mud since the school was constructed the decision was born out of a report by planning com mittie chairman roy hansen which indicated that present ficilites would be overtaxed in two years with harrison and wriggles worth schools requiring the most immediate action board at first leaned to a new building since construction of homes in the lane orchard sub division assured an even higher taxation on teaching facilities there some trustees felt that since a large percentage of the harrison enrolment came from the area between harrison and kennedy a new school there would leave enough teaching space at harrison to absorb the registration expected from the orchard subdivision development of the moore park subdivision at the oppos i town wouldalso af fect school boundaries and in any case the cheap accommo dation offered by the portable plus the feature that it can be easily moved to wherever re quired influenced the board to shelve
