land is owned by the town what is already built upon and what la owned by others he pointed out that there is a road allowance so there would be no land locked parcels of land as some councillors feared since this had been the snag which held up the approval of the sale of land to andrew murray last week the discussion switched to this sale at first councillor hyde sug gested tba hundred foot atrip of land at the back of the pro perty be cut off the proposed piece of land however mr murray pointed out that he real ly needed it and had already cut his request from five acres to the two and a half coun harrison then suggest ed giving him an option on this piece of land after mr mur rays explanation coun hyde stated he would go along with the original parcel provided that should this strip of land not be needed it should be sold back to town at the same cost mr murray replied that the stipulation was already in the agreement on hearing this coun hyde urged the third reading of the by law be given immediately so that the matter would be settled the mayor pointed out that a change would have to be made in the by law and felt the town engineer and the solicitor should do it however coun hyde asked mr carr if be could change the appendix right then and mr carr said he could overcoming the mayors wish that the solicitor and engineer amend it and bring back the by law next week council voted to have it done right then ironically at 11 oclock motion of adjournment was pas sed five to three before the third reading of the by law was given opposing the adjourn ment were coun hyde harri son and smith in reply to a request from council a letter was received from ferro structural steel stating that they planned to commence building in the spring of this year and hoped to complete the 6000 aq ft within two months the letter staled that the adjacent lot was necessary for future expansion so they could plan ahead still on the subject of indus trial lands two offers of pur chase from the real estate firm of wm- f sunnucks were read one for 4 9 acres from h boeh mer and one from o ft p con struction for just over an acre the boehmer offer of 4 965 is for a five thousand two hun dred square foot warehouse an office and a ready mix plant deputy reeve young pointed out that this offer was approved in principle by both council and the industrial commission the land is a gully and hills said the deputy reeve suited to this purpose he added that it is down near avian it appeared to be the first time anyone had heard of the o p construction offer of 1250 reeve
