annual meeting is ttiurstfiyvmafcir 10 tragically killed before cfurtit- mas will do m u soon as con venient it bard to believe but the hospital will celebrate iti fifth hirtidat this sprfnj there la till mirth to be done but cer tainly the operation has expan ded in every way since that day when it was opened in june of 1961 -by-fcee-tartt- thls year the annual meeting of the hospital association will be held jn the hospital it in the cafeteria the meeting is scheduled for thursday ev ening march 10th it was felt that by having the feeeting in the hospital itself it might increase greater inter est in attendance possibly a goodly number of members will feel more like attending in this vena refreshments will be short interesting one and then is absolutely no reason why the whole thing should take more than an hour and a hah ports election to the board and refreshments should take longer than that this year- life members are being mailed notices of meet- uygand h th this will bring an increased response to tfce meeting- we hope that ma ny of the life members will take the time out to attend af ter all in any of these cases nj sizeable investment has been nade in the hospital therefore people who have invested least 50 and in many cases far more have a right to know what is happening in the ad ministration of their building it is not as if there are only a few honorary members we be fieve there are upwards of a thousand t incidentally anyone wishing join the association may obtain membership at the hos pital office to be eligible to vote at the annual meeting one must possess a current membership or be a life mem ber membership may be ob tained at any time previous to the meeting how ibout it lets seejjig attendance this year a joint meeting of the doc tors board committee looking iter the bebe m fund was held recently and plans discosssed it is hoped that those wishing to contribute to this fund in memory of a young georgetown doctor who was so and we might say right here and now that there has been a great improvement in the whole operation in the past eighteen months and particularly during the past year occupancy ha steadily risen until we are op erating near capacity unless we miss the mark there seems to- be an entirely new spirit throughout all levels of staff certainly we have observed a h smoother operation in the past few months and look forward to greater strides in future we hko to think that the immediate future will bring a number of improve ments in the building and jthe equipment there have been a number of areas where improve ments have been made during the past year and while costly certainly will add to the build ings capabilities agreat deal c4 this marked improvement is due the ad ministrator fred whitta who has accomplished a great deal since hes been r f in his own field as administrator and we might add in many oth er associated fields of hospital work the hospital auxiliary god bless em came through with two more magnificent donations to the hospital it is quite safe to say that without the magnif icent continuing support of this group the hospital would find it a very bard road in deed they continually give major aid in all areas financial volunteer helpers at the hospital and the many ser vices to supply aid and comfort to our patients thanks once again girls donations of course still come in and we have manag ed to compile a list of those of the past few months we hasten to add there are doubt others that we have not yet heard of and these shall be recorded at a later hatev we would like to thank the members of the terra cotta thursday tttmble club the helping hand circle of george- still worriedabpmtprinjg flooding fin glen williams a recurrence of flooding in glen
