large collection of original prints and it all start ed with a small etching by the late fred s haines which he bought as a young man more than forty years ago gallery house sol asked this collector for a small selection of his possessions to exhibit at the beginning of centennial year at the gallery at 45 charles st and he readily consented there are 62 prints in this show some of them by old masters like van djck hog arth goya and ingres there are humorous ones by the eng llsh cartoonists rowlandson and leech several 19 century prints by great artists like fan tim latour and whistler and many canadian american and european prints by 20 century artists like milne phillips snow zadkine appel and buffet there are also two prints bj hiroshige the last great master of the japanese woodcut
