that he had been con tacted by one of our larger in dustries with a view to making a further donation to comment orate centennial year this is a very fine gesture on the part of this firm and will be most useful the size of the dona hon indicated is a large one and can be used in many ways with the hospital literally burs ting at the seams these days patientwise there arc many urgent needs in various areas when the gift is finalized we will have more to say about this community spirited c pany along with smith and stone and vanans this makes the third old established firm in the past few months who have recognized the needs of the hospital in a financial way we hope that many of the industries in the community will follow their lead in this canada s centennial year this would be a fine project for any industry or organization to take on by this means they would not only be commemorating the centennial in a fitting man ner but would be helping the community needs we might point out once again that ex cept for day by day operating costs the hospital depends en tirely on industry and organiza lions for new equipment and improvements often one hears the government takes care of this is just not true as no level of government con tributes one red cent to the equipping or expansion of the hospital quite a number of new indus tries have located here since the building of the hospital stx alt ages find fun while learning thi aiortmtown hiralo thursday february 23rd 1967 pages years ago and even more since the fund raising campaign star ted in 1059 wa do hope that many of these industries will see fit to give financially to a local institution that is avail able to them and indeed to all citizens if any of the new industries should have any sug gestions about the hospital or have any questions wc would be only too glad to answer them and we are equally certain that the administrator or chairman will be equally happy to do go an industrial night is being arranged m the future to al low people to see our hospital and to acquaint our new indus tries with the services availible there the hospital association an nual meeting is to be held on thursday march 9th in the ca feteria of the hospital we do hope that a goodly number of members will turn out for this affair last year it was held for the first time in the hos pital with a considerable im provement in the crowd still far short of the numbers that should attend but a decided 1m provement we predict that this years report will be the best in the hospitals history and will be worth anyone s while to attend refreshments have been arranged and wc understand a short film will be shown this film will be most interesting a century ot medicine in canada and very briefly highlights canadian
