ofthewttotes may yon enjoy health happiness and peace and may the good lord grant you tolerance kindness and love toward your fellow tman in 1969 1968 was without a doubt one of th best years canadians have experienced this also ap- plies to branch 120 1968 was kind much was accomplished aim for 300 members of the branch turn ed out in full force for the dis tribution ofchristmas hampers on tuesday december 24th and in consequence all hampers were delivered before 330 pm president hale and yours truly arrived too late to assist how ever our intentions were good the branch new years party was better than ever next year with the extensions it is hoped well oyer threehundred people and many projects finamzedvjbetihenew years party now the branch membership will look for better and greater things for 1969 how can this be achieved by the vitalizing influence of the members of the branch by their interest their ideas and assistance there is only one way for the branch forward needy veterans and their de pendents are being provided for the branch is deeply invol ved in local community work and in sponsorship of worthy causes strongest branch 120 is without a doubt the strongest organization in j georgetown to keep things this way is not enough there there were no notes last week this really was no fault of ours the period between christmas and new years is quiet at the branch so there is no news however the ways and means committee was busy on friday j evening prior to new years joe was at his usual stand with the dart shoot and the winners were marg porter sid tipton woody hamilton marg porter pat boyd tom burgess dennis mccartney this last frday january 3rd the lucky ones were tom harlow bob mac kenzie bill ritchie floss trac- ey barb reese bruce- mcquar- ry john ferguson connie is always something more to be ferguson floss y and done over the years a mere handful of members has taken fn- active part in the branch last year there was an increase in interest by the members we hear wonderful things of other branches and when we begin to fclve into these stories we find the branch in question has scor es of social members who arc the backbone of the project in question npw with a membership of i ever 490 veterans and a poten tial of possibly over 100 eligible members in town does the branch need social mcmbersyto help with the many projects undertaken perhaps the answer can be found in 1969 you may know a veteran why not take an appli cation torm to him and have him become a member of the le gion could be he is needed at branch 120 to assist the few who are giving so much of their time right now toe the line for 69 make it the best year ever bruce mcquarry the car club is in full swing with four hundred members the first weekly draw was made an friday evening during the dart shoot the lucky five were neil patterson tom gadd ned mcfarlane jim paynter and lome cross there will be five names drawn again this friday and every friday until friday july 4th if you are a member of the car club why not drop in you may be lucky tuneful twins last saturday evening norm ward and his ways and means committee surpassed all prev ious
