item the very excellent re sponse to the hosoital in mem- cry of our late mayor joseph gibbons the late major gibbons and mrs gibbons had showed an intense interest in the hospital since the idea was conceived and this interest was kept up including tie time mr gibbons served as mayor when he was an extremely active and valu able board member at well as taking an acade mic interest in the board they also had a very- large material one being among the largest contributors to the financing of the building and so it was with a great deal of pleasure that we found that the idea of contributing to the hospital in lieu of flowers as asked by mrs gibbons was so very successful the entire board was very pleasantly sur prised to find the number of in dividuals industry and organi zations that saw fit to remem ber mr gibbons in this way the total sum which we be lieve to not yet be complete is a large one and a great deal of thought will be given to what slball be done with it to perpe tuate the memory of one who contributed so much to hospital syltes mr and mrs k lee miss olive logan wigo tele vision c appliance ltd the mclaughlin group brumac developments ltd fraser mclaiighiint
