annual fire prevention poster contest receiving the top awards for the 1860 contest were susan mellor 10 year old daughter of mr and mrs m mellor of 9 cleaveholm dr georjtown fend mark bowen 9 year were fires in over 14000 homes for a loss of 8000000 while 3700 farm fires brought another 11000000 damage of these fires 5391 were attribu ted to careless smoking ont- arioa 1968 fires caused 2ft5
